ECLECTIC TEA ROOM PROPOSAL

Unity in Diversity Arts Foundation in coorporation with Dance Into Unity, Inc.
introduce the new project.

Introducing celebrated personalities to our community through
unique new program “Eclectic Tea Room” in Hollywood this September

1. MISSION:  This unique, new program is all about bringing people together from all walks of life to celebrate our ‘unity in diversity’, bringing the unique richness of our world to the members of our community.
With two co-hosts and distinguished guests with work of international caliber in the fields of culture, arts, poetry, music, science, technology, medicine, social and political sciences, this new event will be a cross between a talk show, stage production and educational program all in one
Needless to say, our guests will have interesting, unique and perhaps unusual life stories, the journey of which they will share with us, the viewer.

2. GOAL:  Enriching and uniting our community by broadening opportunities of communication and collaboration amongst the many tiers of our society, including various cultural, religious and social groups.

3. DATE & PLACE:  The “Eclectic Tea Room”, with the further descriptive subtitle, “Where Destinies Meet, will take place on a monthly basis at the Macha Theatre/Films at 1107 N. Kings Road, West Hollywood, CA 90069.  The flavor, ambiance and size of the Macha Theatre would be the perfect venue to serve as the back drop for the sophisticated theme and material of this program.

4. PARTICIPANTS:  (1) guest, distinguished leader/specialist in one or more of the areas mentioned above; (2) principal host  and guest co-host conducting the interview with the guest of the event; (3) audience, with opportunity to actively participate during question/answer session.

5. STAGE DESIGN: Stage design will reflect an imaginative theme inspired by the life of the special guest.  A professional photographer and set designer will work with co-host Elena Alexandra to convey the essence of this portrait.   And of course, tea will be served on set.

6. GUIDELINES:  Invitees will represent individuals from all walks of life with specializations in varying fields and in their particular area of expertise being of interest to most, if not all members of our society.  Suggestions for the guest list will be presented and agreed upon by the “Eclectic Tea Room” committee members.

7. PROCESS:  The interviewers will explore and bring forth the life work, achievements, and ultimately the individual’s personal experiences and human journey to our audience, bridging the gap between what was perhaps a previously an unreachable ‘one of us’, to become a shared part amongst ‘all of us’.

Presenting a unique and distinct theme and genre of interest to all, each evening will consist of an in-depth interview, discussion, and audience involvement, all focused on the subject of the evening.  The hosts will conduct the main interview (ask the chief questions), responses to these questions can come from various participants of the talk show (guest, experts, audience members, etc…).

Questions will depend on the focus and goals of the interview and will be tailored to the particular individual being interviewed and directed to highlight the most interesting aspects of their work and personal journey.
The talk show will be conducted in English and interweaved with Russian translations.
Part of each evening will be devoted to a theatrical piece or genre-related presentation such as music, dance, singing, and poetry - making the program most attractive and interesting to the viewer – a complete theatrical engagement.

Each “Eclectic Tea Room” program will be translated (aired) on City Channel, and reviewed and published in the magazine Afisha in the regular column “Eclectic Tea Room”.

8. FUNDING:  Program funding will come through ticket sales, sponsorship and other support, as well as help from the city, all to ensure the continued success of the program.

9. AWARDS:  All participants will be presented with a special gift in appreciation for their participation in the program and contribution to the community.
