In preparation to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of West Hollywood, UIDAF launched “Great Composers” series, which started on February 29, 2009 with the works of Giuseppe Verdi, the most influential Italian composer of 19th Century. The second concert took place on August 11, 2009 and was devoted to works of the Great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky who is widely known to Americans as a composer of the favorite ballets such as Nutcracker and Swan Lake. On July 13, 2009 the “Great Composers” concert series received an approval from the City Council of West Hollywood with the recommendation to help promote the concert series. Four more concerts will take place in 2010 displaying works of Mozart, Kalman, Glinka & Chopin.
