Established in 2004, Unity in Diversity Arts Foundation was created to help various musical and theatre groups, art studios, painters, artists and musicians from the former Soviet Union to unite and reach their full creative potential here in the United States. Since that time, the foundation has broadened its goals and influence to make artistic and educational programs available and accessible to children and seniors from underprivileged low-income familes of all cultural backgrounds.
With Founder and CEO, Lev Volovik at the helm and in charge of the organization and fulfillment of the foundation’s goals, UIDArts has created numerous cultural and educational programs in the areas of arts, music, literature, paintings, and photograph in cooperation with many ethnic and cultural organizations in the United States and throughout the world.
Locally, for the past five years, the Unity in Diversity Arts Foundation has been one of the most active non-profit organizations in the city of West Hollywood. The foundation has earned its favorable reputation servicing the community and creating a rich cultural atmosphere, hosting fabulous art exhibitions and heartwarming concerts that have attracted audiences of all ages.
Though UIDArts organizes and produces events throughout the year, the “Colibri” Young Performers Competition has become a community favorite and staple of what the foundation represents and plans to achieve. The multicultural competition features young performers from all over the world, exhibiting an array of music, songs, and international dances, most dressed in their countries’ traditional costumes. Over 250 youngsters between the ages of 4 and 20 participated in the Competition.
Praised by Russian and American press sources including The Independent and the Beverly Press for the enthusiasm and dedication of their work, and commended by representatives of their own community for the great benefit the foundation brings to the city, Unity in Diversity Arts Foundation continues to work in close collaboration with the City of West Hollywood and Russian Advisory Board to help build the artistic and cultural image of the great Los Angeles community.
